After 26 years of Burmese Socialist Program Party ruling, once the most prosperous nation in region, Burma, was turned out to be as a one of the most poorest countries in the world. When peoples' pent-up emotion based on general resentments were exploded, in 1988, nationwide Democracy uprising had been occurred. Thousands of peoples were killed and ten of thousand of people arrested just for calling to regain our original rights and Democracy. Numbers of activists including us fled  abroad to avoid being mistreated by Military Government.

As we need to finish what we have started, wherever we are,  have to keep going the way  believed in any form. That is,  ODFB was born for Democracy. ODFB believes unity among Pro-Democracy forces is critical, we are ready to support and participate any peaceful action that leads  Democracy to Burma.
